Call For Papers
2013 Symposium
On Friday, June 21, 2013, CBHMA will host its 27th Annual Symposium chaired by
Father Vincent Heier.
Historical research papers will be presented that relate to the Little Big Horn
battle, its participants or events immediately prior to or following the battle.
Please send proposals to present a paper at this forum to:
Mike O'Keefe
80 Arroyo Venada
Placitas, NM 87043
mikeokeefe7th@gmail.com
(505) 401-3784
All proposals must include the title of the paper and a synopsis of the
non-fiction subject (not to exceed 250 words) and must be submitted by February
1, 2013,
to be considered.
Up to six papers will be selected for presentation and those authors will be
notified by March 1, 2013.
For papers selected, the authors will provide two copies of the completed paper
(typed, double-spaced, 3500 words maximum, properly foot- or end-noted), a CD
(preferred text MS Word), a signed release (provided by CBHMA), and a short (250
words maximum) biography. Photos should not be embedded in the text. They should
be saved as a separate file on the CD.
Completed papers must be submitted to the Mike O'Keefe by no later than June 10,
2013.
The author (or his/her designee) will present the paper at the Symposium in
Hardin, Montana. Following their presentation, papers will be edited and
published in a single volume, copies of which may be purchased for a nominal
fee.
During the past 25 years many excellent papers have been presented, but by no
means have all subjects concerning this controversial battle been covered. If
you have an avid interest in these events, you are encouraged to choose a
subject, do a little research and write a paper.
The process is not difficult and it may provide an opportunity to express your
viewpoint or opinion on an important aspect of the battle.
